The brush is real badger: soft and firm. Just the brush is worth the price of admission if you're into this kind of shaving.
The pre-shave oil makes it easier for the cream to stick to your face; use it! Put it on, then get to work setting up the cream and your basin of hot water.

- Treat yourself well.I purchased this pack when I wanted to learn how to shave with a straight razor, I still can't shave with a straight razor but I'm glad that I have tried because now I use these products. I use all of them in conjuction so I can't really speak for the products individually but this combo does provide me with the best and most soothing shave I've been able do on my own.
