I have to agree with another reviewer here. Most of the articles pertain to topics that can be found elsewhere: home fashions, entertaining (fat-rich food and LOTS of it!), pop culture, sex, etc. The magazine's primary purpose seems to be nothing more than make money from the bear community. Heck, more ink is spent on the announcement of bear runs, and bear porn, than anything else. Overall, a pretty vapid and mindless publication. Its amazing how you just stick BEAR on something and people will buy it. You could get a lot of this stuff from Ladies Home Journal and other magazines.

Rating: - A much needed publication
I've been a subscriber since the second issue in 2005. With the Bear community being a minority within a minority, it's hard to find any sort of media with which to relate to. ABL isn't the first magazine for Bear men, but it is the first non-pornographic, lifestyle magazine. The articles are geared toward the masculine gay man, but I've had straight friends and female friends both enjoy the articles about caring for pets, throwing a good house party, etc. ABL is a must for any member of the Bear community ...
